I’ve been trying to update all my old patterns, give them a little face lift, change up pictures, and edit to make them easier to use. This is happening much slower than I intended, of course. Supplies needed:

Fingering weight yarn (ex. Sandnes Garn Mandarin Petit or Patons Grace) in  2 colors:

Color A

Color B

Crochet Hook D (3.25 mm)

Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Abbreviations and stitches used:

  • Ch—chain
  • Dc—double crochet
  • Dc3tog—3 dc together (tutorial in pattern)
  • Sc—single crochet
  • Sk—skip
  • Sl st—slip stitch
  • St—stitch
  • Yo—yarn over

Ch 31

Row 1: Sc in 3rd ch from hook, [sk 1 ch, 2 sc in next ch]

13 times, sk 1 ch, sc in last ch.

Row 2-3: Ch 1, turn, sc in 1st sc, [sk 1 sc, 2 sc in next sc]

13 times, sk 1 sc, sc in ch 1.

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, sc in 1st sc, [sk 1 sc, 2 sc in next sc] 4 times. Ch 10.  Sk 11 sc, 2 sc in 12th sc from hook, [sk 1 sc, 2 sc in next sc] 3 times, sk 1 sc, sc in ch 1.

Row 5 (work into sc and ch): Ch 1, turn, sc in 1st sc, [sk 1 st, 2 sc in next sts] 13 times, sk 1 sc, sc in ch 1.

Row 6-8: Ch 1, turn, sc in 1st sc, [sk 1 sc, 2 sc in next sc] 13 times, sk 1 sc, sc in ch 1.

Change to color B.

Row 9-10: Ch 1, turn, sc in 1st sc, [sk 1 sc, 2 sc in next sc] 13 times, sk 1 sc, sc in ch 1.

Change to color A.

Row 11: Ch 3, turn, 3 dc in 1st sc, 3 dc in ea sc until the end of the row, dc in ch 1.

Row 12-13: Ch 3, turn, dc in 1st dc, dc in ea next dc to finish row, dc in ch 3.

Row 14: Ch 3, turn, dc3tog until the end of the row, dc in ch 3.

Row 15: Ch 1, turn, sc in ea dc. Sc in ch 3.

 

Make 2 sides of purse using the above pattern.

Align both sides right sides facing each other, and connect with slip stitches all around.

Fasten off and weave in all ends.
